Meaning: Greeting - Hello, what's up, how's it

BABBELAS, KAK [kuck bah-buh-las]
Meaning: When your dog rolls so hard in shit he can't get out of bed the next day
Example: "Ag shame, Boomer's got serious kak babbelas after yesterday's farm adventure"
BAKGAT [buck-khut]
Meaning: Cool; expression of appreciation for something very well accomplished
Example: "That grooming job was proper bakgat!"
BERGIE KAK [ber-khee kuck]
Meaning: Mountain poop from homeless persons - dogs' favorite delicacy
Example: "Ag no man, not the bergie kak again!"
BOET [boot]
Meaning: Your mate, buddy, friend
Example: "Ag boet, your dog is proper si!"
BRAK [brahk]
Meaning: Dog, hound, four-legged chaos maker
Example: "That brak found every puddle in Cape Town"
CHINA [chee-nah]
Meaning: Mate, pal (Cape Town classic)
Example: "Listen china, your poodle needs help"
EK SÊ [ek-say]
Meaning: "I say!" Used when making a statement

EISH [aysh]
Meaning: Not again! Expression of dismay when you see your freshly groomed dog

FOKKEN [fok-ken]

GEVAARLIK [khuh-vaar-lik]
Meaning: Looking good, dangerously attractive
Example: "After that Ultimate Grooming? Your brak is looking proper gevaarlik!"
GOOIROOI [khoy-roy]
Meaning: Jolling hard in mud, going wild
Example: "Your lab was proper gooirooi in that dam yesterday"
HOND [hawnd]
Meaning: Dog, four-legged family member

HOS [haws]
Meaning: Informal greeting - hey, hello bru

JASIS [yah-sis]
Meaning: Expression of amazement (clean OR dirty)

JIRRE [yir-ruh]
Meaning: Not again! Expression of disbelief

JOL [jawl]
Meaning: To party, have fun (what dogs do in mud puddles)

KAALGAT [kaal-gut]
Meaning: Completely shaved, bare as a baby's bottom
Example: "One kaalgat special coming up!"
KAK [kuck]
Meaning: Universal word for mess, chaos, or poop
Example: "Emergency! My brak rolled in kak again!"
KAK TORNADO [kuck tor-nah-do]
Meaning: When a dog finds a big pile of kak and does zoomies in it
Example: "There goes Max again - full kak tornado mode in that cow pat!"
KYK NOORD EN FOK VOORT [kake noard en fok foard]
Meaning: When your dog sees something nasty and goes for it - no regrets
Example: "There goes Bella... kyk noord en fok voort into that cow pat"
LAANIE/LARNY [lah-nee/lar-nee]
Meaning: Boss, fancy person
Example: "Your poodle thinks he's a proper laanie after his Ultimate Grooming"
LADUMA [lah-doo-mah]
Meaning: When your dog finds the nastiest thing to roll in - "He scores!"
Example: "And there's the dead fish... LADUMA!"
LOSKOP [los-kop]
Meaning: Scatter-brain, someone not paying attention, airhead
Example: "Don't be a loskop - write down the pickup time!"
SANGOMA [san-go-mah]
Meaning: Traditional healer or diviner; My Dog's Spa groomer who performs magic on your dog
Example: "Take your si brak to the sangoma - they'll work miracles with those clippers!"
SIFF [sif]
Meaning: Dirty, smelly, but somehow still adorable
Example: "Your brak is looking proper si after that beach adventure"
SJOE [shoo]
Meaning: Expression of surprise/amazement
